What happens to Blanca at the end of The House of the Spirits?
Blanca quietly returns to the Trueba household and names her daughter Alba. Clara predicts that Alba will have a very happy future and good luck. Her future lover, Miguel, happens to watch her birth, as he had been living in the Trueba House with his sister, Amanda. They move out shortly after Alba's birth.
She neither breaks off her relationship with Pedro Tercero nor does she run away with him. She refuses, then accepts, and then leaves her marriage with Jean de Satigny. This mode of action receives equal regard as the other two.
Esteban ultimately ends up abusing Clara, too, but his deep love for her keeps his violence at bay for many years. Esteban and Clara's daughter, Blanca, falls in forbidden love with Pedro Tercero García, one of the peasant workers on her father's hacienda.
It is precisely the idea of her love for Pedro Tercero that defines Blanca more than any actual relationship the two may have.
Personal life. On January 21, 2013, Blanca announced that she and her husband, Ben Callahan of Group 1 Crew, were expecting their first child. She had a son, named London, in July 2013. On December 1, 2020, Blanca announced that she and her husband would be divorcing, after two years of separation.
She succeeds and the conviction is overturned, Blanca's green card is renewed and she is released. Despite now being free and having a green card, Blanca leaves the country immediately to reunite with Diablo who was deported to Honduras.
Esteban and Alba are reunited. Esteban is the oldest living member of the family, and Alba is the youngest. In the course of the epilogue, Esteban dies, and Alba is revealed to be pregnant. In the death of Esteban, the only character remaining form the very first chapter, the story comes to an end.
Alba's homecoming; Esteban's death
Alba forgives her torturers and writes the novel we have just read. Plus the house is restored, and Alba's expecting a child. For all the darkness of this novel's final chapters, this is a remarkably happy and hopeful ending.
The finale skips to 1998 to come full circle. Blanca, now a registered nurse and married to Christopher, explains to a young woman that her HIV status is not a death sentence.
Blanca Flores (Laura Goméz) was supposed to have her happy ending, but then ICE came in. The fan-favorite inmate of Netflix's hit Orange Is the New Black see her world come crashing down in the Season 6 finale, when she was promised an early release from prison and was instead detained for illegal immigration.
